Mission & Outreach

The Mission & Outreach Ministry Group reports to Church Council and is responsible for ensuring that programs and activities which the congregation sees as important to the mission of the church at Forest Hill continue to have relevance and support.

Current programs and activities currently include:                                                                                            * Kids Hope (a mentoring program at Burwood Heights Primary School)                                                *  Weekly Collection of Food and provision of food vouchers for families and others in need, to support the Uniting Church East Burwood Centre.                                                                                               * Whitehorse Winter Shelter  (as part of our involvement with Whitehorse Churches Care)…providing warm food and a safe bed for homeless men and women in the City of Whitehorse during the Winter months of June, July and August.

In addition, the Group organises special appeals such as Christmas Bowl, and SHARE etc.
An important part of this role is to be a forum for vision and ideas and to stimulate action within the congregation, empowering members by acknowledging and using our individual and combined gifts and experience.
The Group meets bi-monthly or more frequently as necessary. All members welcome discussion of ideas relating to current or future mission programs.
